Gold mining companies offer leverage to the gold price. AuAg Gold Rush is a portfolio of 24-27 companies with an allocation of 8%, 4% and 2/1% per holding.
The portfolio construction provides a lower exposure to the sector's three ‘megacaps’, which means that the fund has a higher target weighting towards large and mid-cap companies than a market-weighted fund. This creates a portfolio that can capture the upside potential of a gold bull market. The 40% exposure to royalty/streaming companies gives the fund strong defensive characteristics.

The fund is traded daily and follows the UCITS (5/10/40) framework. Holdings are divided into five categories:
- Cat 1: 4 holdings at 8%, R/S = Royalty/Streaming
- Cat 2a: 2 at 4%, R/S = Royalty/Streaming
- Cat 2b: 12 at 4%, Mining
- Cat 3 & 4: 8-12 at 2/1%, Mining
- Cat 5: Cash & CM- holdings
All holdings are allowed to be within +/-25% of the target weight. Holdings may be moved between categories or replaced fully. All holdings are traded at the most liquid markets (approximately 90% US and 10% LN). Benchmark is XXAU (PHLX Gold/Silver Sector Total Return = XAU including dividend) in the funds trading currency (class B = EUR).

The Fund is an industry fund that invests its assets in transferable securities issued by companies whose income is derived from the extraction of gold, silver and other metals and which generate at least half of their income directly or indirectly from the gold mining industry.
